about

Hailing from the North of England and currently hiding from everybody he upset there in West Cork, Jake has managed to successfully avoid anything vaguely resembling a career and has instead devoted all the spare time required to be successful in a proper job to attempting to write the perfect pop song. Several near misses litter his past (as well as hundreds that sailed aimlessly into the bleachers) but this most recent offering promises to be his nearest miss yet.

He played his first ever gig in 1982 aged 12 at theTrinity youth club in Barnsley and despite being bullied mercilessly by the bigger boys for being a girlie show-off the taste for performing has never gone sour.

He has been in several profoundly unmarketable bands through the decades; one which was notably slated by Richard “virgin” Branson as “a triumph of art over commerce and therefore totally unsignable”; but he has wearied of sharing the limelight and of blaming others for never gaining any money/fame/influence/
chart success/web presence and is now ready to take sole responsibility for not gaining any money/fame/influence/chart success/web presence with this newest collection of melodic oddities that is “Tricks of the trade won’t save the day “.
